 Workshop With Leeny Del Seamonds:

Saturday, January 21, 2017 - 10:30am

Southsideside Cultural Center, 393 Broad Street

“Spoken Word Alive! ¡Ay Ay Ay!” – Join Cuban-American Master Story Performer™ Leeny Del Seamonds in this highly participatory workshop for teachers, adults and performers at all levels. The workshop opens with Leeny sharing a Latino story, followed by a series of exercises and improvisations to bring words alive with vocal variety, healthy phonation, movement, gestures, and characterizations. Leeny emphasizes pronunciation of some Spanish words and vowels en español and shares how to “roll the rr’s.” Finally, we’ll expand our cultural circle by acting out one of Leeny’s Latino tales, “Tres Cabras Llamados Garcia,” complete with maracas and dancing. Be prepared to move, challenge yourself, and have FUN. ¡Olé!
